My new book Beyond Words: Talking with Animals and Nature is a collection of true stories from clients, students, colleagues, and friends of their experiences with intuitive communication. These were stores, told to me over the years, that I felt were too good to keep to myself and I wanted to share them with you. The stories are so amazing that they begin to seem magical. Yet, they are real experiences of people, the majority of whom profess no exceptional intuitive ability.
In the beginning of the book, I explain what intuitive communication is and give some basic instruction. I also discuss the results of a research project I conducted into the use of intuitive communication in ancient and contemporary indigenous societies. My thesis is that this form of communication is a part of every human's heritage and was the norm for human interactions with animals and nature until the modern age.
I organized the stories into categories. For example, there is a chapter of stories recounting experiences that people described as pivotal, which convinced them that intuitive communication was real. Another chapter has stories about using intuition for training animals, and another that has stories about spiritual transformations that came from connecting intuitively with animals and nature. I received so many stories about animals and reincarnation, that I did a separate chapter just on that. I also have a chapter that traces the journey of several students who were led to become professional animal communicators. In the last chapter I give you my best ideas and advice for how to deal with the crises that confront us - the threats to life on earth - and how to create the change that is needed in our world.
